Records, 1882-1969.

Includes articles of incorporation and other legal documents, complete meeting minutes of the board of trustees, and a copy of a manuscript history of the college by F.E. Stratton. The newspaper clippings span from 1899 to 1969 covering a wide number of subjects. The student records are primarily grade sheets and two transcript ledgers. The publications include handbooks, catalogs, annuals and the student paper. There is material pertaining to the laying of the library cornerstone including the speeches given by Theodore Roosevelt and John Burke. The correspondence is almost exclusively between alumni after the college closed. The subject files contain several publications, including by Adrien Alstad, Jane Mullenbach and Frederick Stever.

Born at Athol, Mass., son of Joseph and Alice W. (Mann) Stratton. Wed Mary Tryphena Goddard 1874. Received a Ph. D. from Wesleyan University, principal and teacher at various schools, appointed professor of Greek at Fargo College in 1906. Served as dean from 1906-1911, and college librarian.
